Warning Zone inspires students

Our Year 6 pupils had an inspiring and thought-provoking day at the Warning Zone last term. The Warning Zone is an innovative education centre located in Leicester which offers an interactive learning experience to children on how to stay safe in the world.

The pupils were taught about the real risks of life by getting them to think about their actions, behaviour and decisions they may make as they grow through their teenage years. The aim of the day was to provide pupils with crucial messages from personal to online safety through stimulating and memorable experiences that would help them make informed decisions in life.

During the trip, the children explored various topics related to safety such as road safety, fire hazards, staying safe on railway tracks and the dangers of construction sites. They were also given an insight into how to tackle peer pressure, cyberbullying, as well as the effects of drugs and alcohol on the body.

The interactive nature of the learning experience helped the children to retain important information and understand the consequences of their actions. They were given scenarios and were able to take part in role-playing exercises, which helped them understand how their decisions can have an impact on their own lives as well as the lives of others.

Overall, the trip was a great success, and the children left feeling empowered with knowledge that they will be able to apply in their daily lives. The Warning Zone provided an engaging and informative learning experience for the pupils of Riverside Primary School, and the school looks forward to future trips to this innovative education centre.
